Healthy 55 is a club that helps those who are 55 and above work towards Better Health by providing educational and wellness programs along with fun social activities.
Our goal is to help improve the health of our community by offering some tools and resources for the 55+ population to live their healthiest lives.
Every month we host events where you can learn about different health and wellness practices. Things like our Distinguished Lecture Series will provide you with some of the knowledge you need to live a healthier life.
Along with those knowledge-based events, we’ll also have some activities that are just good fun! Join us for things like line dancing, card making, and ice cream socials.
Can’t find a class that you’d like to see? Let us know. We take pride in listening to our members’ needs and taking the necessary steps to add programs and services that will make a positive impact on your life.
Spots for most of our events are limited, so we ask that you register beforehand.

Demo: Florence Price: Symphony No. 3 in c minor
Florence Price's Symphony No. 3 was commissioned by the Works Progress Administration's Federal Music Project during the height of the Great Depression. It was first performed at the Detroit Institute of Arts on November 6, 1940, by the Detroit Civic Orchestra under the conductor Valter Poole. The composition is Price's third symphony, following her Symphony in E minor—the first symphony by a black woman to be performed by a major American orchestra—and her lost Symphony No. 2. |
